The dental lab technician performs conventional and digital fixed and removable prosthodontics and associated procedures in a dental laboratory.
Qualifications:
Essential Duties Performs conventional and digital fixed and removable prosthodontics and associated type procedures in the dental laboratory.
Highly skilled work requiring independent thinking and judgment such as interpreting and evaluating items of work and associated instructions.
Fabricates fixed and removable prostheses in conjunction with natural teeth, dental implants, and maxillofacial prostheses.
Fabricates prostheses with castable dental alloys, pressable ceramics, heat-cured dental acrylic, CAD/CAM dental materials.
Restoring or replacing natural teeth by fabricating crowns, fixed and removable bridges, dentures, and dental implants.
Constructing dental prostheses for implantology and maxillo-facial reconstructions.
Receiving physical dental impression molds or computerized models from dental practices and studying dentists' instructions.
Encasing wax replicas of dental impressions with suitable mold materials.
Constructing prostheses and devices by replacing wax with plastic, metal, or ceramic materials.
Competent in utilizing digital dentistry workflow and 3D printing and milling procedures, including care for digital laboratory equipment.
Finish and polish dental prostheses and devices prior to placement by dentists.
Manage supply inventories, perform routine equipment maintenance, and facilitate repairs.
Documenting processes, as well as adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.
Keep informed of advancements in the field of dental laboratory technologies and techniques.
Maintains patient confidentiality and takes every precaution to secure Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities In-depth knowledge of dental prostheses, devices, and related technologies.
Extensive experience in constructing, replacing, repairing, and restoring dental devices.
Proficiency in dental laboratory computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, such as 3 Shape and Delfin Dental.
Exceptional manual dexterity and precision.
Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
Great communication and collaboration abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities.
Education/ Experience High School Diploma required.
Accredited dental laboratory technology program required.
Certified Dental Technician (CDT) required.
Minimum of one year experience as a dental laboratory technician (preferred).
Special Requirements/ Certifications/ Licenses Certified Dental Technician (CDT) required.
Physical/ Environmental Requirements The body must be able to reach, bend, stoop and reach in order to perform most lab procedures.
The ability to sit and stand for a duration of time is also necessary.
Other specific requirements include color spectrum differentiation; manual dexterity/motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, physical communications; visual acuity and communication/language development.
Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following:
chemical hazards (skin irritants), equipment, use of sharp instruments and latex.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
